Voer voor liefhebbers allicht, maar ontwaar ik daar aan de overkant geen homo universalis?

George Harrison: Living in the Material World
Het was aan mij voorbij gegaan, maar afgelopen jaar verscheen George Harrison: Living in the Material World, een documentaire van Martin Scorsese, met daarin demoversies van nogal wat nummers die later op All Things Must Pass (1970) zouden terechtkomen, een plaat die ik koester.

Tanned
The Greek sun made you lovely
but attacked me with its rays.
I fell asleep and burned so badly
I could barely move for the first few days.
The girls in front all lay topless -
I did my best not to look.
But you could see right through my glasses
as I pretended to read my book.
We went for dinner then tried the cocktails
and drank our way through the list.
For the first time in ages we just sat and chatted
then staggered home happy, tanned and pissed.
